Do you think having your moon not matching your sun can cause this?!

Question: Do you think having a sign in your moon with absoutly no commonality with your sun sign, can cause depression?
Or makes your personality more versatile?

This doesn't relate to me, but the people I know say that they are more complicated to be understood by others.

For example: (combinations that don't match)
Scorpio Sun/ Sag. Moon
Gemini Sun/ Scorpio Moon
Aries Sun/ Cancer Moon

The combination is endless, but I hope you get the ideal...

Absolutely! When there's a sharp contrast between the motivation of one's sun and one's moon, it makes it difficult for the individual to know which path to take. The opposition between one's outer image and their inner longings can lead to a great deal of depression and alterations in how they behave, as they attempt to find a balance.

Although you didn't mention this example, I'll use my own situation - I'm a Virgo sun with a Sagittarius moon - in my inner world, I desire nothing more than to be blissfully free and unattached to the world, to flit about aimlessly with no particular goals. However, my Virgo sun tempers this with the motivation to be "conventional," to simply follow the masses and work hard, to achieve.

To expound upon one of your examples, I think the Aries sun and Cancer moon is an excellent contrast - obviously, their desire would be for attachment, for comfort - but their Aries sun would in some manner fight against that, with a desire for competition and independence.

You are quite correct with what you said - these contrasts are devastating for those who suffer them, but I don't think that having your sun and moon in alignment is necessarily any better, as there are still likely many conflicts at work in one's chart.

Hey, I never thought of this! My sun is Pisces and my moon is Virgo. Sometimes, I want to follow my dreams and just live life however I want to (Pisces) and other times I want to settle down and live in normalcy (Virgo). I think you have a point there...

Horoscopes have no ability to predict anything. Live in the real world.
