my dad is a taurus and he was a horrible terrible parent. But this was just mine, I'm sure they can be good moms and dads if they want to be.

I guess they are strict, worried about their children's appearance, future and achievements.
I'd say they make good parents, a bit demanding, but good parents.
And they usually don't fall in the trap that Leo parents fall: over-loving leading to "blindness", they love their children so much that they don't see their imperfections.

conservative, a bit of a harda** and short tempered, but deep down they are very sensitive and will love you forever.
all in all, a worthy parent.
Wonderful. My mom is a Taurus and is very stable. She is very protective and harmonious like the bull. Even when my dad passed away, everyone thought she was going to crack under pressure and do drugs. NOT! My mom misses him everyday, but it has made her stronger through each and every passing of the days that has gone by. Being that she is a Taurus, she doesn't take crap from idiotic people and know-it-alls. Very great parent but she can get fussy over little things though.
