It's it not more than likely where you are born? Religion make a big difference. If you are born in Cairo, Egypt your personality will be based on the Koran. In India you would be raised as a Hindu. If you are Christian it is most likely because your parents are.
Your personality maybe infuenced by your parents or lack of them. Lots of single parents. How about if you are raised in a city enviorment compared to a farm in Peru?
The main thing is that making such a bold claim without the evidence is pure speculation. But that is one of the things astrology does best. Speculation.

+: if the mind, the sea, the trees, the human being, the plants, the minerals, the sky, the solar system and science start from one same source, then we can relate to any one topic from any other topic and justify what we want to, from the place we want. That includes our behavior and our signs. We are only asked to run down the chosen path i guess, and there are clearer paths than others.

i think that personality has to do with a number of things. i think that our Genes play a big part. you're right when saying that sibling can have compeletly different personalities, but you're genes aren't just handed down from you're parents. you inherit them from your parents who got them from their parents and so on. just like any other physical trait. it's like certain genes can skip a generation, and you can carry the gene but not have it yourself.
for example boldness, or hair colour, eye colour and the such.
i don't think that how you are raised has much to do with it, coz parents would pretty much raise their children the same, but life experience plays a big part. as you go through life, you fall in love, you meet your goals, you feel more confident and all these factors can change the way you think, hence changing your personality.
horoscopes do play a part but not a very big one, coz out of all the horoscopes i've read( about personality), maybe one third is true about me. i'm a Gemini and i have other friends who are geminis and we're only similar to some extent.

when hello, do you think babies raise themselves. they develop personalties from their parents and whoevers in their surrounding,they will begin speaking a perticular word that they hear over and over again. they way your brought up! abusive men sometimes have a record of their father being abusive to their mother. use common sense.

Genes are a huge factor! YES a sibling can have a competely differnt perosnality...becuase the parent treats them differently? for example. first born is treated with precautation becuase their worried something might happen. second born is been there done that.
so no "astrology" is not the only answer.
