Every gemini I met is either a loner, or a leader, but both types don't care!
Question: What is it about geminis that makes them this way? Can u describe if you are a gemini, or if you know some?
they keep saying they're social butterflies and all that, but every one I met could take or leave ppl, but would never follow anyone else. They basicly did their own thing and follow their own rules, or in other words, *rebellious*.
I think gemini has another undiscovered ruler in addition to mercury that plays a part in the gemini personality.

I make it Rain: Both of my siblings are Geminis - an older sister, and a younger brother.
They are just as you describe. Geminis are very complex.
Their strongest trait is very independent thinking and durability. Can handle anything that comes their way. I believe this is due to their intelligence. My siblings (as well as Gemini friends) care and protect those close to them to an extreme. Most people don't mess with a Gemini or his family/friends more than once. But contrary to what many think, Gem's don't flip out over nothing. If they are pissed, there was a reason for it. However, Gem's can have some wild mood swings. My sister growing up - WOW! split second mood changes. My brother not so bad - his wife says otherwise though! So once in a while, there will be a moody snap, but its lasts like a second or two.
Geminis are viewed as rebellious, because they act on their own intelligence. They do not rely on others to make decisions or solve their problems. This intimidates some people. Me being their sister, ONCE IN A WHILE, they will use a little of my advice.
As far as not caring what others think. Geminis care about the person as a whole - not just what they think. My thought is that Geminis mind is always moving so fast - how are they going to keep up with everyone elses thoughts, when there is always so much going on in their own head?
What I know is that they care very much for those close to them. They are just not good at verbally expressing it. Geminis express friendship/love by action, rather than words. As a Scorpio, I understand this - I'm the same way in that regard, even though I have the water sun.
As far as social butterfly, for my sister - most people like her and find her funny - many different types of people. My brother knows like a thousand people - he's a networker type. Definetly has the gift of gab. Great story teller (true stories), he steals the floor, without trying to (very funny as well). However, my sister is really not a crowd person, but could entertain a crowd. My brother does like being in the crowd (parties/gatherings), but as he has gotten older, appreciates down time more and more.
There's nothing wrong with being self-sufficient. Its a great trait.

im a gemini, (june 1st!!!) and geminis are known for being a split personality, hence why we're called the twins... we cxan love ppl one minute and then the next do the complete oposite....

well thats not really true because you haven't met all Geminis i mean im a gemini and i am the one who people go to talk to ,i am the most social person i know so your are wrong
well im a gemini and take it from me i hate to follow after anothers rules or assumptions or anything of that matter i dont know but rebellious is in my blood and i couldnt think otherwise gemi's choose to not be ruled by anyone and not to take anyhting from anyone we gemini's only can take but so much of some people and after a while we choose to do the opposite of what is asked. But people seem to love to talk to us they waste there secrets to us knowing we have a disease called blabor jaws itus lol but yes we are known for talkativeness and socialness

I wouldnt call them rebel (aquarius are the rebels, not them >:) ), i would however call them freedom lovers and independent people... they, noonetheless, arent fratnership defenders like aquas are, so they tend to talk with loads, but have no friends or companions... true aquas have a lot of companions but no friends (weird huh... the air signs are surrounded by people, but not by true friends, maybe libras have a few friends)
The worst part is really their uncareness towards others, (mostly their feelings) sometimes they dont realise it and it can hurt a lot of people because of that...
Gemini leader?... and i thought that was impossible... leaders are Leos, Aquarius, Capricorns, Scorpios, Aries and Taurus... these ones normally have one or 2 traits made for leaders... the most successful ones tend to be the fixed sign ones... being them leos, aquarius, scorpios and taurus... but those that can really show what ruling is about is Leos and Aquarius, they are naturals doing just that... ruling and leading... (get an aquarius and a leo together and you get the best leader a person could ask for, the irony is, one is the rebel, the other is the dictator)
About the undiscovered ruler... dont be silly, virgo is also ruled by mercury and virgos are simply more down to earth and critical than geminis... if geminis processed their ideias, they would also be very critical... but would still be open minded... (a thing virgos, even though they can be, most of the times they arent)
another difference is one cares about his feelings, the other doesnt have feelings... being that virgo and gemini respectively...
well all geminis ive met up to date tend to talk a lot, are curious, are freedom lovers, play around a lot, all those traits that belong typically of geminis...
I have met a few in the cusps but, however, they tend not to change much between them... some are more quiet, but in a way, they are talking with their brain, so it ends out being the same...
Speaking as a gemini it's not that we don't care it's we don't have the attention span. So much stuff runs through my mind if I focused on everything I would get nothing done. I don't have the time to do what everyone else wants me to do also. I tried and I wasnt happy. I do what I want. Get with it or get lost. No hard feelings! =)
Gemini's are far ahead of the curve of human interest and development. If you want to measure your own vitality and spiritual charisma, check yourself out next to a Gemini. If you find something to complain about, you've got a ways to go. Personally, I have nothing but love, adoration and respect for Gemini's and all that they are, all that they have to give and all that they bring out in me. If it wasnt for Gemini energy, I would not be who I am today.
I know quite a few Geminis' and I can't think of any that I know that are loners. I don't know what could make a certain Gemini a loner or a leader, but I could tell you some characteristics of the ones that I know.
My mom's a Gemini and she was a social butterfly from the stories I've heard from her days in high school...she was president and in other positions in student council, clubs, talkative, makes trouble at work from the stories she tells me (she works with a few other Geminis). I would say that she's a leader type. Geminis have two personalities, or they'll be happy and calm and then a min later they'll ***** about something their mad at and then back to normal. lol.
They're big flirts too. Talkative, some are two-faced, like I hear sometimes that some that I know seem to be all smiles and nice to you and then their talking **** behind your back.
I have another Gemini friend that's not as talkative and the party-girl type but she's still fun...seems more calm and responsible and reserved compared to some other Geminis I know.
Even my cousin's kid (6 years old) is a Gemini and he's sweet, quiet, and innocent in public, but then with his family and anyone that takes care of him he's the devil child and talks back!!! I know, I had to watch him for a month. lol. OH yah, from what I can remember he is the leader type of all the kids, the one that bosses the others around, or he'll be off by himself doing his own thing (sometimes something mischievous) haha.

To me, the gems I know have a constitution that makes them interested in what people think. They like groups, and are usually swayed by social circumstances.
Loner and leader describes either scorpio or capricorn in the gemini.
i'm a gemini. I always hated that "butterfly" stuff, I've never felt like a "butterfly". I think it's quite true that I do go my own way and follow my own counsel; drives my wife crazy! It's not really rebellion as such though, if I don't know how to do something I'm happy to follow someone's lead, but when I find a way I like to do things I'll do them that way, whether or not anyone else does. Anyone's welcome to follow my lead, too, but if they don't want to do things my way I don't care, and if they want me to do things their way I still don't care, I'll do it differently just for the hell of it. Rebellious? I wouldn't call it that, but--I don't care. I'm just quite certain when I see a better way, and determined to master it. It's not so much that I can take or leave people, because I find something interesting in everyone, but I have my own ways of doing things and if others can't accept that, too bad for them......
