a. Second house lord Saturn is well placed in 2nd aspected by Jupiter. This is good combination but in Navamsa Saturn is debiliated.
b. 11 house is not strong as lord of 11 is in 12th
c. Though there is Gaja-Kesari yoga, Jupiter is debilitated in navamsa.
I am confused on what factor of the chart made him so rich.

My Dear Sir, it is where you need to pay more attentions while interpreting a horoscope. You should not come to a conclusion without understanding the planetary position in Chalit Bhava. Chalit Bhava is VERY VERY important portion in Vedic Astrology and you need to take the planetary position there.
In the above said horoscope Jupiter is literally placed in Virgo, however, in Chalit Bhava it is in Leo therefore you need to pay more attentions to its position in Leo rather than Virgo because Guru will produce the results of Leo and NOT of Virgo!
Accordingly there is an excellent Yoga called Sthana Parivarthana Yoga--exchange of house between the lord of Lagna and lord of ninth house. The lord of Lagna has joined the Yogakaraka Mars in ninth house! I think I need not explain more on this because now you can understand the results easily.
The above said Yoga is more than enough to make a person rich after his middle age. Please note that the gentle man had Anthiya Vayase Dhana Laabha Yoga-meaning “to become rich at mid and later age”.
