Is it so hard for people to spell "psychic"?!
Question: Just wondering. The amount of incorrect spellings of that word in this section alone makes me wonder how many % of the world's population is dyslexic...
I could go on about the numerous incorrect spellings of the signs of the zodiac, but people can make mistakes in those; they're only names after all. But "psychic" is a commonly used term, I would've thought everyone would know how to spell it... like "actor".

I don't know.....I can kind of understand why people may sometimes confuse the spelling of the word. I have written the word psychic more than once in my life, but I have even noticed myself, especially when I am typing at a fast pace, that I would jumble some of the letters...putting maybe the h in front of the c, or sometimes spelling it out as physics (I always do that one). Luckily, I am anal and always proofread everything I type, so I always catch my mistakes, but I can understand how sometimes people may spell the word wrong. I think the brain just doesn't register the word, as easily as it may actor, because the brain compares it to words that are similar in spelling, such as physics, and if you really look at the word, the letters seem to flow together and are all very similar in shape, which also might confuse the brain. Just a thought.

bad grammar and idiotic spelling mistakes gets my hump too.
Just now i spelled psychic -->> "psycic" hehe.. i didn't notice it though until i actually posted the question and saw yours, then i thought (did i misspell psychic?) when i checked it--- i actually did haha.. i guess sometimes people just forgets to recheck..=)

It is because of its pronunciation that people make a mistake in its spelling.
Psychiatrist is another word which most of the people get wrong!
Its all because of the way it is pronounced!
But i get the spelling right!
