Since I'm an Aries, I will now exhibit the very best characteristic of an Aries and deliberately refrain from talking about myself and instead, not wishing to seem manipulative or inauthentic, I will take a minute to reminisce about the lovers I've "known" (in the biblical sense). They have NOT been Aries!
I think it's a truthiness that we can learn more about someone (Aries, for example) by focusing attention on the people who surround them, the people who gravitate to them, the people who network with them, the people who contribute to them the most, regardless of what sign we're talking about.
In this case, Aries attracts to itself people who are creative and energetic. Also, we tend to attract people who, the best I can say about them is that they are "care-takers"....they are people who want to nurture, to take-care-of, to be sustainers and who, for their own psychological issues, want to associate themselves with someone who is the least needy, the least clingy and the least concerned with pleasing people. Isn't that interesting? Those who complain the most about the worse traits of Aries, are also those who apparently have dependency issues, or care-giver issues, or interrupted "motherly-issues" or some such characteristic that does not make a good match-up with the typically all-or-nothing attitude of an Aries.
To make matters worse, Aries people will also attract to them the most intellectually aggressive people in the world: iconoclasts, egocentrics, egomaniacs, artists, scientists, drug addicts and substance abusers. Why? Probably for the same reason women love Aries men because they are extreme in their expression of sex, attraction, romance, finances, creativity, risks, danger, a devil-may-care attitude. It can be said that women want to sleep with an Aries, but they want to wake up with a Cancer the next morning.
That is part of the problem with aries, they always think everything is about them. Honestly, aries are not very good friends and I doubt they would make good lovers since love is a two way street, and aries think the world revolves around them.

As the x of an Aries, and the mother of an Aries, I know a little bit about them. Here are my thoughts.
I think Aries have a tendency to think too much about how others perceive them. The have seemingly the utmost confidence, but that confidence is negated if there isn't enough reinforcement. Aries are also master manipulators. They ALWAYS get what they want, even at the expense of loved ones. Theres some of the bad.
When Aries are not thinking about what they want next, they are kind and sensitive individuals. That may not always seem the case, because keeping control over ones emotions are a priority to the Aries. But there are moments when they can express the good of humanity at its best. They tend to be very smart, but that's a double edged sword, because intelligence again can lead to manipulation. When well placed, that intelligence is remarkable. The detail in the work of an Aries is impeccable.
All in all I think Aries exhibit wonderful traits. Its up to the individual on how they apply them.
My ex is manipulative and phony, not to mention stubborn, but hes also very smart.
My son is smart, engaging and good at manipulating bad situations into learning situations. He is sensitive, and worries what others think, but not for what he can gain from them, rather, whether or not hes making right decisions.

LOL...the Best lovers Ive had were Aries and after another Aries relationship that went well but had a different prob, i prayed for an Aries that would stick with me and Im married to him....He is sweet, tender, romantic, S*xy and has pisces rising!! LOL
Sorry....but you guys are just too uptight for me about a lot of things! Everything has to be PERFECT and AT ALL TIMES. and it's very very hard to live with! If only you could be more accepting of others....and more accepting of yourself to not get so defensive and have a temper tantrum about every little thing (and then of course forget about it 2 seconds later). But honestly, what I dislike the most about your sign is that you are SO competitive with just about everything, it seems, and I hate how it's ALWAYS about your little world.......when you talk you don't even consider how your words and even just your tone might be impacting others, for christ's sakes. And I really don't know how you are not ashamed of your temper where you look and start foaming at the mouth like an animal. I dunno if all aries do that lol, but my dad sure does. And it could happen any split-second, too.
Anyway, I appreciate that you enjoy the humor in life and that you are up and ready for any adventure---as long as you like it..........and it doesn't interfere with your plans *wink*. And your high energy is quite attractive. But, sorry, not good friends.....and my dad is not very thoughtful with my mom. However, I sense that you have caring hearts through it all. Of course, all this only relates to my dad cuz he's the one Aries I've gotten to known THE best LOl.....omg. But Well, I have known 5 other aries, maybe that helps. Eh. you aren't that bad, ok? Not when it comes to fun times at least! But I couldn't imagine myself living with one of you. It'd probably be a day to day nightmare........mostly of boredom lol. I like Aries for the simple fact most people can't understand them...yet to me they are really easy to figure out. They march to the beat of a different drum.
