Why do people have a naive belief in sign cusps?!
Question: I've been seeing ppl who obviously don't do know astrology and just go by sun signs, keep saying there are cusps in astrology when there are actually "none". Any intelligent person can see that you can only be one sign.
Ex. this Johnnyrocker89 guy keeps posting this retarded crap about cusp divisions and I'm like.. r u stupid? lol, the sun can only be in only 1 sign at a time, even at the very beginning or edge of a sign. If you have any traits of the next or previous sign then you will have your mercury, moon, venus, or other planets in those signs which give you that sign's characterisitics. Now do you guys see that there are NO cusps?

I dont believe you can be 2 signs. once you pass that border your in that other planetary influence.
your zodiac sign is like pregnancy, you either are or your not.
people say theyre more if the next sign in their zodiac
but truth is theres more than a great chance that you have planets on that next sign in your moon,mars,venus, etc..
they confuse their sun with other planets, thats why they think theyre some of the other.
which is also the reason why a lot of people reject its truth.
lets say you have Cancer sun and Aries ascendant.
youll definitely reject being a sensitive, sweet, caring Cancer.
but they dont know that, and i hate it because all you hear is sunusunsunsunsunsun
When there's a full moon, new moon, etc... the influence is felt for longer than that exact moment. It lingers for a couple days and gradually dissipates.
Likewise, planets don't just suddenly jump from one sign to another. They slowly move through to another. You can argue that any sign is just a constellation... and every constellation is a series of stars... and all of those stars together have a specific influence, just as all of those stars individually would. So if a planet just *barely* passes into, say Pisces, then it's still as close to many of those Aquarius stars as it is Pisces stars. So, do all of those stars suddenly stop having an effect, just because the planet is *technically* in Pisces? They suddenly just "turn off"? Or is there a divine force saying "OK, now it's Pisces' turn!" No... Constellations are just collections of stars that have a specific influence. They influence anything in their proximity (at least as their proximity is shown to us)... the farther something is, the less effect they have on it. If the planet is still close to those other stars in that other constellation (ie: a cusp), then those stars still have a bit of effect (at least those closest to the cusp in question). There's no switch turning their influence on and off.

a) Explain. Enlighten me. Because that doesn't fit everything I've seen, read, etc...
b) Ironically, that actually proves there's a division within a sign... that a sign's influence changes depending on far into the sign a planet is.
There are such things as cusps... (If you go to the library and check out a book on astrology, or type in "cusps" in any search engine on the Internet, you'll find it!) If you are born on a Cusp, you will incorporate the energies of two Signs.
It is about 5 days before and 5 days after when the new Sun Sign starts and the old one ends. The cusps, or "Blending" of the signs, are more or less occupying the same time, (or space if you prefer).
Have you ever heard of Natal charts (or Birth charts)? Your "Sun sign" only give you a brief analysis of your character, and it's the most GENERAL information in your horoscope. Likewise, there are moon signs, ascendants and much more. Your ascendant , also called rising sign, gives you more in-depth information about yourself. The Moon sign is also important as it reflects your emotions and intuitive side of your nature. There is WAY more to astrology than your sun sign... and if you are born on a cusp, highly possible to have the qualities of another zodiac sign.
and people like YOU annoy me who try to shove their beliefs into other's throats! honey, let me make it clear to you: i BELIEVE in cusps, and i know of many astrologers and people who do believe them to be true! that doesnt make us naive. if you'e not in a cusp, you shouldn't even judge. i am in a cusp myself. i know what i feel, you dont....i feel the effects of both signs that i am in between. and yes, ive checked my chart and its only in my sun influences! i know cusps are true.
believe whatever you want to believe.... just leave anybody else who disagrees with you alone. dont insult cusp believers please. have a good night!
maybe you non-cusp believers are just jealous that you weren't lucky enough to be born in a cusp.
p.s: and yes, the passing from one sun sign to the next is a TRANSITION, its not a thing that goes "poof"!!!
EDIT: seems like you cant stand any disagreement. and no, i am no longer an "only a sun-sign" astrology believer.... i admit it, i used to be! but ive learned now that the whole chart matters probably even more (from an experience of mine). however, i do still trust sun sign astrology somewhat, though not as much as i used to. its not totally unreliable....its worked for me. this is how my boat floats, ok!
