sagittarius men think the world is against them and are dillusional, sag women are good friends, but lack in strength and reality and tend to get involved in things that make you say "what were you thinking?" but they mean well, unless they are going through some weird emotional problems, they are also welcoming and generous... but i rather have a friend that knows whats going on and is more steadfast and mature, then living in lala land
Aries are very realistic and in the here and now... they make steadfast friends, are very trustworthy (you can tell a sag things too, they listen well) but aries gives better advice. I love aries honesty and intiative... they are selfish, but it's bc they will not lead you on, they are waaaay honest (sags are honest but they are too easily influence and are gullible).... I just happen to realllllly admire Aries natives.

i am with sagitarrious (i'm scorpio) and he is fantastic lover and a good friend but moody for no reason sometimes and very off/on about commitment issues (one extreme to the other) and sometimes can be selfish (only nice when it suits him/if he's in the mood for it)...but all together we fit v well cos i like the up and downess (even though it is sometimes tiring. i think that is cos i am a scorpio and like the mini dramas!)
aries i think of as friends but not v sexy because their personality always seems a bit diluted/go with the crowd type....there's only a couple i know though so can't judge too well.
but for me, sagitarrious good!!
would just like to add that the girl's answer below mine, marina's, is spot on in terms on sag faults so u hav to have a lot of patience and self confidence (to realise their moodiness isn't your fault) to deal with them!!

Having been in a serious relationship with a Sag, I would have to go with Aries. Why? They're steadier, more reliable, better providers, and less fickle. They can be demanding in that they want to be "boss" and they can also be a little OCD about how things get done around the house, but they also have a great sense of humor and will do their best to make you smile. Sag's are a little bit of a pain in that they despise any form of injustice, and you and I both know that life is full of it. They have a tendency to brood like little boys when they feel that life has handed them a bum deal---a lot of the time it's their own laziness that puts them in that position in the first place. Aries is definitely a better pick in my opinion because there is less guess work involved---what you see, is what you get!
One of my best friends is an Aries with Sagittarius rising. We have some sort of mutual respect going on between us. He protects me like I'm his little sister, in return I treat him like the second *bigger* brother that I can go wild with - my own brother is great fun, but isn't always up for my ideas.
So I would say Aries as a friend.
Sagittarius, on the other hand, I've known a few and found them interesting, but there was one (with an arguable Scorpio rising, which is what I will go with for now) who had a strange effect on me. He made me throw away all my prejudice, discipline and restraints, in return I simply fell in love with him before I well realised. Since him, I'm very very fond of Sagittarius men. (And to think I've dated a Sagittarius/Taurus rising before - needless to say with the opposite rising he also had the opposite effect on me...)
So I would say I would definitely rather be with Sagittarius.

OK OK, i don't believe in this stuff but i will tell you my experience from only two examples. which is a very poor source of information if you ask me.
as a friend definitely Aries. i have an Aries friend who is very reliable and loyal. i can depend on him and he looks out for me whether its finding me jobs or a party invitation. Sagittarius on the other hand (this is an experience with one person i know) are more like auctioneers, they follow the highest bidder. to put it in other words, who ever offers more fun they will follow them. they have no sense of dignity, honor or loyalty. so they might be fun to have around but they are not a team member. another good thing about Aries is that they are very brave when they stand for a good cause. all of these traits adds up to a number one companion to have side by side with the might proud Leo. with Aries we could create and command, with Sagittarius we only consume. so personally i would rather have a good Aries friend and a sexy Aries woman than a Sagittarius. Sagittarius are also very irrational so that's another downside, they overdo everything long after you have gotten bored of it. in fact, from my experience saggs are the least favorite people to have around. Virgo is second after Aries with Aquarius. god even Capricorn people have been a better help to me than saggs, and they were meant to be enemies with leo's. gemini, my sister is one and i love her. my hero. but then again you cant group people based on thier birth date right.

Well, Aries are a bit selfish for me in general, so I'd have to say Sag if I had to choose between the two. However, given the choice between all 12 signs, I'd stick with the air signs.
