It seems to me that he was surprised only, so how may you explain things to him will be your next step I think. In the other hand I think females feel a bit shy to explain how things work in biology, so it will depend on both of you, if you can explain and if he can listen and understand then that will be just perfect. If not then he'll need someone else to make things clear to him. Or if he's also shy he may use Internet or read some books to find out everything. Or he'll ask a Doctor to find out that everything is in order.
