Astrology...isn't it amazing?!
Question: I have always been intesrested in my sign...and have read about my destiny and where my life will take me. As I grow older and my life unfolds I am finding it amazing how true this all really is. I'm not just talking about horoscopes next to the funnies in the paper either. I read about my birth year/date in a book titled "Destiny' and it's very interesting how accurate it really is. Anybody else agree and have other resources where I can find more or would like to discuss this? I want to find out all that I can.

yes, i like astrology too esp the character definitions..they come out so right...i started reading about all this during my teenage time n now when someone tells me his or her birthdate i can somewhat predict what he or she will be like...but i dont like the predictions n never depend on them. n also the compatibility notes...they dont always come out as true. why dont u go to borders? they have a huge collection of astrology books. once i found one which had so much to tell about each sign. but i really forgot its name. maybe i will go back to search for it again.
It's only true because your subconscious works to make it true. This strengthens your belief(s) and it also encourages the idea that you have a place and purpose in this world.
That doesn't mean that it isn't all B.S., but psychologically, you're justifying how you got to where you got to in life.

It's amazing how people think that the stars and planets were created just for guiding humans lives. It is a very concided view to think that we are the center of this universe, when we are an asteriod collision away from being extinct. Where is the evidence to support this?
What astrology really does excel at is being a bigoted concept.
It labels, stereotypes, and pigeon-holes people solely based on birth-date. This has no scientific evidence and it is totally unproven. Most people abhor other forms of bigotry, but gladly accept astrology's without thought. Once again, no evidence to back such a claim.
Astrology was founded in belief of many mythical deity images. It's been around for millennia in many contradicting forms. It seems to be sustained largely among women who selectively remember hits and like hearing about themselves. Scientific studies on different astrological scheme have found no ability to predict personality type, marital success or deaths.
If true, then belief does not matter. Astrology can and has been tested. It fails to do better than chance. Ask if any of the "experts" that have put years or decades into it, if they are close to providing the proof.
Either astrology can be tested – so astrologers, please tell us how. (And so far it has failed all well designed tests.) Or it can’t be tested – so astrologers please tell us how its rules were derived and how you know it works.
Which is it? Because it can’t be both.
