Horoscopes, ?a load of poop?!

Question: They give totally different 'predictions' to each other when they looking at the same stars. Also, you can pretty much pick any start sign at random and it will seem to have some slither of relevence to you.
Are they full of dumpypoo? Do they give such a broad view on their predictions tha almmost anyone could read into them?

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.
Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.
Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.
Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.
Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.
Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true

Nothing in life is to be feared, It is only to be understood.

yes. ram poop if you're an aries like me.

But to be serious now, yes you are correct, they are so general that anyone could think it applied to them in some way. I also think it doesn't help that so many people sort of half-believe in them, chosing to think they are true when they get one that is particularly right, and ignoring them otherwise.

i think it's all crap too, but some times things do go the way the say, then it gets me thing about the signs, then the next day totally different again!!Hubby says read any sign and it all sounds right to all.

Hororscopes are vague. There have been psychological studies in which everyone will recieve the same horoscope and the majority of them would say it was true or some of it happened/applied to them in some way. I forgot what the actual term is. Sometimes if you read a horoscope prior to your daily activities it can influence the way you think and act about the day.

Well, then quit reading poopy websites and magazines and getting advice from astrologer wannabe's?

I had only one once that was accurate, to the nth degree, but mostly they are ambiguous, but plenty of people do believe what they read, but i take it with a pinch of salt, and mostly don't read them anymore.

I think they are too generalised - I never believed in astology until I had my charts read which was very specific and based on the exact time of my birth - a couple of minutes difference and you have a whole new set up of planets in different houses - that's why generalised stuff tends to be useless for us all - as you know you can have vastly different personalities and life events around a group of people the same star sign. I still like reading them though and making up my own interpretation.

crab poo. Cancer me lol

I watched a program with a guy called Derren Brown about this. He wrote a very lengthy horoscope type analogy for several people from all over the world. They showed you how every single person were so touched by how accurate it was that some people even cried.

At the end they got all the people together and revealed that they all had exactly the same analogy. To me it just proved what I thought all along. It's all a load of rubbish!
