I really don't know what they expect!!! And the thing is..why do they try to impose their beliefs on us??? Did anyone from here go to the Religion section and start saying that believing in God is b**** or not real??? Or maybe that Astrology is the only way to save your soul? Just because they don't believe in Astrology, it doesn't mean it's not true! They have the right to believe whatever they like and so do WE.I hope they do us the favour and stop posting irrelevant answers...

What amuses me is the fact that almost every human will admit that the phases of the moon. has a effect on peoples behavior. like its a full moon all the crazys are out. even my grandmother thinks that and shes a born again christian...... but they dont belive that the sun and planets can effect behaviour

Astrology is a symbolic language we can use to understand ourselves and each other. It doesn't require that we believe in it for it to be useful. Do you believe in economics or sociology? If you didn't believe in either, would they cease to be meaningful when applied to real-world situations?

I often wonder what zodiac signs some of those people are. I bet even if a chart was done for them, and they had the evidence of their traits they would still deny it.

1. Laughing at so called ingorance.
Why don't the experts EXPLAIN to the layperson exactly how and why astrology works? How hard is it? Those that have studied for years, can you say that you are close to having proof that can pass testing? That is what you should answer here instead of insulting. Is understanding astrology harder than learning to play a piano? Really, how hard is it?
We are not narrow-minded, we just do not see any evidence. We DO want to see as much as possible. What is the energy that the planets emit that makes astrology do what it does? Why does it not weaken with distance? How can it be detected and measured? These are just a few logical questions we wonder about? Tell us what books or websites DO explain if you can't tell us. Is it a some big secret? If we look with an "open" mind, will the evidence produce itself. If so, you must know already.
2. Is astrology a belief based religion, or a factual science? When you get upset about "respecting" beliefs then you are talking about a religion. Belief is the most crucile thing. Is that the most important thing for astrology? No one can test a belief.
If you treat it like a science, then beliefs do not matter. Science is neutral, but it has rules. Tests must be repeatable by anyone, anywhere or they are not valid. Lack of evidence does not equal proof.
Also Aaron should read up about tides. If I pick up a bowling ball, I put more stress on the Earth than Venus.
I can "believe" but not not by a leap of faith. Eliza is right, truth does not require belief. But truth does require evidence that is independent of belief. Hearsay is not aloud as evidence in court but could be accepted here with out question. If you had to prove astrology in a court of law, what woud be your evidence.
