Yeah, my parents are the same sign: Cancer. Well, they always slept in the same bed, even after mom found the love of her life a few years ago and left us. I don't know so much about love between mom and dad, it semed it was more a mutual respect and same interests, something to get old together, most of times. I guess they harmonized in every essential aspect of life, and I really mean every. Maybe too boring after 20 years... But we still live together in the same house.. due to harmonising...lol

Nope, my dad was a Cancer and my mom is a Sagittarius. Two completely different signs, but it worked for them. They had their fights at times, but they always remained very much in love with each other for 28 years, until my father passed away. My mom was heartbroken.
And I don't think my parents could've handled the same sign as a marriage. My dad needed someone who would get him off his butt and do something. He also needed someone more optimistic and carefree. My mom was great for that! And even though my dad thought he was in charge, he needed someone who could tame his emotional outbursts and take charge from a stronger point-of-view. Once again, my mom was a hero for this. My mom needed someone to ground her and give her a more stable life. My mom's always looking for new adventures but wanted to fall in love and marry and have kids like everyone else. She needed a partner who would be a good family man, husband, and a good father for her children. My dad was wonderful in that regard. He helped her give her the life she needed, and she gave him the spunk to keep on moving! Another Cancer would just drive my dad to atrophy and boredom. And another Sagittarius would tire out and anger my mom.
