My favorite element is probably air too. I always get sucked in by them flirty Gemini boys. They're so much trouble! Yet so magnetic dammit! haha
I also don't like that I'm a Taurus. I don't feel like one! *I* even think Taureans are boring. Like my friends who are Tauruses - not exactly the most thrilling people to spend time with. And my horoscopes are always telling me how dull I am. =( haha I dunno, I could kinda see me being a Libra or a Cancer.... Mine are:

-Water: I like Cancer, I can talk with them very easily. And they're so playful and funny.
-Fire: I like Leo, they are very sweet, open-minded people. Your Sign Sagg is also very good as friends!
-Earth (I dont like this element, they are too practical and pretty boring): Anyways I would pick Taurus. They would be more generous and warm-hearted than the other two.
-Air: Gemini : smart and independent (they lie a lot though).

Why? I'm a Cap. The rest of the non-earth signs are all flake-balls!; but here is the run-down anyway.
Leos are very prideful, but I can handle that. Arians and Sags' are just too impulsive and hot-headed for me.
I have many planets in Pisces. I guess that I understand them the best. Cancers and Scorpios are too quiet and I don't know how to deal with that.
Libras are a lot like Caps only not as "real." They are all glitter and shine, but underneath, there isn't as much depth there as with a Cap. Geminis and Aquarians are liars and "from another world," respectively.
Earth? None better than a Cap. Practical, wise, compassionate. If you all think that Caps are cold, you just need to persevere and scratch their surface. A more compassionate person you will NEVER find! Taurus here. I like water for some reason!
Pisces, Libra, Sagittarius and Virgo are my favorite signs respectively. And they are all mutable (changeable) except Libra, which is Cardinal, like a Capricorn and Leo (I think).

Fire: Sagittarius; they are so much fun and philosophical! And they are charming as hell. I always have fun and smile with them. This is probably my favorite sign.
Water: Pisces; they are soooooooo cute! Those sentimental, dreamy looks in their eyes make my heart melt. I usually pine for this sign from afar.
Air: Aquarius; I think this sign is sexy as hell. The way they think is so unusual and intelligent, I can listen to them for hours and never get bored. I love Aquarians.
Earth: Virgo; my younger sister is one, and they are so funny. They're very set in their ways but are totally modest about it. And they always help a friend in need. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Virgos. Fire: Leo
