I agree too with I M. Astrology is a fascinating subject and a helpful tool for understanding yourself, your relationships and what you are going through but no-one should let it rule you. Also Sun Sign compatibility is just the fun side of astrology. Real compatibility involves comparing all planets etc in birthchart.
Anyway with regard to Sun Sign characteristics, there are ways the Fixed signs will get on with each other. Scorpio/Taurus is an excellent match, being opposites. I know a number of Taurus/Scorpio relationships that have lasted years and are still going strong.
Generally signs sharing the same Elements are believed to be compatible. Taurus will get on well with the other Earth signs Capricorn and Virgo.
Leo will relate well with the other Fire signs Aries and Sagittarius.
Scorpio with the other Water signs Pisces and Cancer.
Finally, Aquarius with the other Air signs Gemini and Libra.
