I have had an occasion to see the horoscopes of a number of persons who are scared of flying.One common thing i found in these horoscopes is the presence of malefic planets in air signs.For example my wife who is terribly scared of flying has Mars in Gemini.Now Mars is a volatile incendiary planet relating to accidents etc and gemini is an air sign.The astrological result of such situation of Mars in an air sign is being prone to air accidents.Though my wife does not know astrology but the fear is in her since childhood.My conclusion is that the fear is Godgiven so as to protect her longevity.Another person i knew well and died in a glider accident had a malefic Saturn with killer properties placed in another air sign Libra.He had no such fear of flying.May be he was destined to die young.In fact even astrology indicated that.
Many other examples can be given.But i think there is no need.My answer to your question is clear.The fear of flying in people is a kind of defence mechanism within them to counter such natural forces which are conspiring to kill them in an air accident.
