Are Scorpio males usually so secretive about their love interests?!

Are Scorpio males usually so secretive about their love interests?

I'm a Cancer female and I am interested in a male Scorpio, and at first I knew for sure that he was interested too, but he's so secretive whenever I try to bring it up!
I know Cancer female and Scorpio male is a great match, but I sense with my "crab instinct" that he's irritated with me whenever I try to subtly bring it up. We share almost all the same opinions on almost everything, including that people should be friends first.
I've never felt like this before.... are Scorpios always like this? He says it should be obvious who he likes, and it is to me, I feel like I understand him, then he completely seems like he likes someone else, saying I don't know her from anywhere, etc.
He says he can't be blunt because he doesn't tell people he likes them until he knows it won't ruin the friendship. So it's hinting that it's me, but then he tells me it's not! Are Scorpios always like this? Should I keep bringing it up, or enjoy our friendship till he's ready? Are we even compatible?

He's probably been burned before and because he told everybody last time, now he feels like there is pressure to commit, and he doesn't want to tell anybody now. I am like that now with a new girl. I wish parents and family and friends would just lay off me and leave me alone, for God's sake and stop gossiping about me. Family and friends and the public eye makes a Scorpio feel self-conscious. They fly off the wall and barely know how to contain themselves. Dad, who rarely speaks is concerned about how Mom will react and Dad blames his irrational behavior on my Mother who wants to know if we are going to have sex before marriage because that is a sin. The sister wants to give me sex tips, like I need that (I know exactly what to do in bed!!) and in so doing, my sister makes my skin crawl because she is talking about herself with no knowledge of what my girlfriend wants. I know I want time alone with my woman and not have everybody looking at me when I kiss her and show appreciation and love.

Scorps don't want to feel like they are being pushed into anything. Don't be pushy and let things happen. Be patient and let the Scorp take the lead.

As a Scorp, I would not mind at all a private wedding with just me and the girl, no family and then surprise everybody. But that's just me.
