Does your star sign really hold any truth In compatibility with another star sign?

Astrological compatibility is not based on simply the "Sun Sign" (what you are referring to by star sign).

In order to determine compatibility one must take into account all positions within the chart, Sun, Moon, Rising, Mercury, Venus, Mars, etc, in relation to the other person's chart.

There are two main methods of doing this. One is called Synastry where Person A's chart is compared to Person B and Person B's compared to Person A.

This includes analyzing such things as "A's Venus is in B's 7th house" and "B's Venus is in A's 5th house" as an example. Also the aspects between all the planets of the two charts are also considered and analyzed, both positive and negative.

Another type of Astrological compatibility analysis is done by creating a Composite or a Combined chart. The two birth charts are combined into one using mathematical calculations and then that chart is read as symbolic of the "relationship" chart.

My own personal studies have tended to indicate that the Synastric chart shows the likelihood and method of attraction between the two people, while the Composite Chart indicates the course of events once the two people involved have decided to form a "relationship".

There are many branches of studies within Astrology and compatibility analysis is but one of them.
