What does my horoscope do?!

Question:

What does my horoscope do?

sometimes its right but other times it isnt even in track with what happened during they day. Who figures this stuff out?

Answers:

The reason for this is simple, although the broader explanation is so complex that, up until now, I haven't had the courage to attempt it, even though many people have asked a simliar question. But here goes.....

Astrologers who write these horoscopes only base their predictions on Sun signs. However, an individual's astrological chart is made up of far more than their Sun sign. There is a sign position for the Moon and for all the eight other planets of our solar system.

For example, you may have been born with the Sun in Leo, but your Moon maybe in Aries, your Mercury and Venus in Virgo, your Mars in Gemini etc.

What's more, there are 30 degrees in every sign. If you were born in late July, your Sun maybe at 1 degree Leo. If you were born later in August, your Sun may be at 25 degrees Leo.

There is far more besides, but the essential point is that the birth chart of an individual is highly complex and unique.

If you access one of the many astrological websites and get your birth chart done, you will see more clearly what I mean.

Now, in relation to how events are predicted: each luminary (Sun/ Moon) and planetary position in the birth chart is a sensitive point which can be triggered into action by the transiting planets.

Say, for instance, Mercury which moves about one degree per day, is transiting 1 degree Leo on a particular day. This will affect all those Leos born around late July (normally in the area of communication), but it will not affect the later August born Leos for about another 3 or 4 weeks.

Morever, if you were also born with Venus at around 1 degree Leo, then Mercury's transit would also affect your love life on that day. An astrologer looking personally at your chart might suggest that you might receive happy news (Mercury) from a loved one (Venus).

However, astrologers who write those general weekly horoscopes cannot possibly know all your individual planetary positions. They don't even know the individual position of your Sun!! So hopefully you can now see why general horoscopes are so incredibly hit and miss.

In order for a prediction to be accurate for you, it must be based on your individual chart alone. This can be done for you personally by an astrologer, if you know one. Another option is accessing a site such as astro.com which has a free horoscope service which attempts to cater to individual charts.

Phew! That was hard, but I hope it has answered your question : )
