Do Astrological signs really determine compatibility in relationships?

I believe in astrology a little because I have noticed people have personalities like their astrological sign. The thing is I'm a taurus and I have met a gemini guy and we are not supposed to be compatible. We are different in may ways but similar in many also. He is also a very nice guy. I have dated other signs like Taurus and cancer that i'm supposed to be compatible with and even though we were they were realy big jerks. Will this relationship work out with me and the gemini guy? My mom is a gemini and we disagree on everything so much it's crazy. I really like him but in the stars they say it's not meant to be what do you think?

Your Sun sign has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not you are compatible with someone else. You need to compare two charts based on the individuals' birth time, date, and place, to see the hurdles and easinesses in their compatibility.

I suggest you go to astro.com and have your charts drawn up in confidence and for free, and have a compatibility reading done. And then, realize that the bad things between you just mean extra work. My husband's Saturn is smack-dab on my Moon, and that is a definite no-no. Yet we've been married 36 years.
