Chinese Zodiac question.. Is it uncommon for a year of the dog and a year of the dragon to marry?

I was born in the year of the dog and my husband was born in the year of the dragon, I was told they are complete opposites by someone and they were shocked we were married. Is this marriage very uncommon amongst the signs?
