Answers:

Aries & Cancer are naturally in a bad aspect called a square (90 degrees) which generates it's own obstacles & challenges. Both being cardinal signs, both are very strong in their own way. Aries is ruled by Mars (sex drive, aggressiveness, impulsiveness) and Cancer is ruled by the Moon (mood swings, emotional, hurt feelings, but on the pro side: nurturing, family oriented, caring, and compassionate).

In order for an Aries & Cancer relationship to work, it needs the support of other planet placements from both charts that are aspected well enough to make them harmonious and compatible. You really should have included his birth date so his birth planets could be compared to yours.

I reviewed the planet placements for your date of birth and the majority of your planets are not compatible with Cancer. There was only one sign that is compatible with Cancer; which is Saturn in Cancer. However, Saturn is a very slow moving planet...and Saturn's influence is one of restrictions, drawbacks, delays, challenges.....in Astrology it holds the nickname of "The Taskmaster" as it takes away and cuts away and by doing so it teaches people hard, difficult lessons of life.

To give you a hypothetical scenario as an example. If you have Saturn transiting say your 2nd house which rules the money you have, the money you earn and your assets, you will experience many problems with your finances, a few would be: loss of job and inability to find another job of equal pay, theft of your money and/or possessions, destruction of your house, investment losses, considerable unexpected debt that will cut into your finances --maybe an accident or damage to your house or car and your insurance company won't pay or you don't have insurance and you become liable to pay for it or just accept the huge loss.

Astrology will only tell you the bad and good influences of the planets in your chart. You can always make it work...it just depends on how much you are going to accept, deny, and ignore. Don't battered wives stay in the domestic violence environment knowing they are going to be beaten down and maybe killed? From the short summary I gave you, which I couldn't go into greater depth without knowing his birth date; I would say no this will not work. You an extroverted woman. You have Venus in Gemini, which means that you usually have more than one man you are interested in at the same time because it is in your 7th house of partnerships. Your Moon and Mars is in Aquarius, which means you can change your emotions abruptly and drop whatever relationship you are involved in. I would venture to say you broke off the relationships with the Cancer males from your past, they did not.

Now, Saturn in Cancer is more like having a father instead of an active partner/lover. You are attracted to the false "security blanket" you believe this older man can offer you. Someone who will look after you, comfort you, maybe as a "father figure". I say false because in reality, it is. Eventually you will get bored with this relationship. It will not satisfactorily fill your needs in many ways. You need a younger man to keep up with your wants, needs and activity, an older man can try but he will never make the grade because eventually his presence will hold you back, hold you down. The demeanor of a Cancer man will not give you the "zest" you are looking for...they are usually more comfortable on the other side of the spectrum.

SUGGESTIONS: Leo (ruled by the Sun) & Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) would be your best. Gemini (ruled by Mercury) & some Aquarians (ruled by Uranus--careful with these) would be your second best. Libra (ruled by Venus) has possibilities, but the relationship would have to begin as really good friends first before you can consider it seriously. Good luck to you.
