I was born on my mother's birthday. What astrological significance can be drawn from this fact?
I think I'm looking for a researched, educated, and professional type of answer - something beyond what could be pegged as "obvious". Calling all pros. I have a great respect for your field and this is a question I've always wanted an educated answer to.

This is an interesting question.
There is a branch of astrology which studies the birth charts of families, and not only do you find particular signs running strongly through families (meaning that family birthdays are often concentrated within one single month), but it is not that uncommon for family members to share the exact same birth date.
In fact, you are the second person I have come across here this week who shares a birthday with their parent. Take a look at this -

Something very close to this phenomenon has also occured in my own family. My mother was born on the 15th November while her elder sister (by 3 years) was born on the 14th November.
It is also highly common for a person's Moon sign to be the same as their mother's Sun or Rising sign, since the Moon rules the mother in the chart.
The basic reason for this is that we inherit the astrological features of our parents in the same way that we inherit their genes.
