Aquarius males: why are you so afraid of connecting to your deepest feelings?

Why are Aquarian men so afraid? Is the influence of past events too strong for you to trust your feelings? Why are you afraid to trust? (I mean really trust.) What could change this? Please explain, I'm lost and in love.

I can't answer for all Aquarius', but I know that in my case, the reason I'm so unwilling to trust anyone on such a high level is, as you mentioned, "the influence of past events."

I'm not the cold Aquarius described on several Astrology sites, quite the opposite. I give everything to my love. I write poetry in their name, take them on romantic walks around the lake, and "put them on a pedestal."

However, experience has taught me not to give in so easily, if at all. My last relationship ended on a very insulting note, "I'm bored of you." Not only was I heartbroken at her leaving me, but she showed me that almost every romantic gesture meant nothing to her. She wanted me to be someone I'm not: social. I'm the strong silent type, which according to her was what attracted her to me in the first place. I still don't understand it. O.O

Before that I was cheated on, and the one before that used me as a means to get over her ex.

Because of all this, the only way a woman can get me to fall for her would be for her to demonstrate a strong interest in me. She would have to be persistent in trying to get me, and not give up after I've "rejected" her. That would convince me that she's not just looking for someone to wipe her eye on.

It doesn't take that many times of being heartbroken to learn to avoid dating and relationships completely.
