An ordinary Psychic Card Game!?!

Question:

An ordinary Psychic Card Game!?

Olrighty, me and my friends were bored in our dorm room, and my friend pulls out an ordinary deck of cards. He lets all of us shuffle the cards. He had this one thing where if you drew a Red Heart or something that meant "Yes"(Yes, no, Maybe Etc.)...So we kept asking it questions. about 20 times in a row the cards answered the questions correctly. Even one time we asked the same question 4 times, and we got the same answer(same card) 4 times in a row. It felt spiritual actually. I felt fear, and coldness. Im not one to believe this stuff. But can somebody with a clear understanding give me a good explanation? And No my friend in no way rigged the cards.

Answers:

Selective thinking

Selective thinking is the process whereby one selects out favorable evidence for remembrance and focus, while ignoring unfavorable evidence for a belief. This kind of thinking is the basis for most beliefs in the psychic powers of so-called mind readers and mediums. It is also the basis for many, if not most, occult and pseudoscientific beliefs.

It should be noted that selective thinking works independently of wishful thinking and should not be confused with biased thinking, whereby one seriously considers data contrary to one's belief, but one is much more critical of such data than one is of supportive data.
