What does it mean when your planets are afflicted?!

Question:

What does it mean when your planets are afflicted?

As much detail as you can please!

Answers:

Hi Felicia - Nek pretty well covered things but I would like to add a little bit. Planets can have a range of expressions for a whole variety of reasons peculiar to that souls choices in this life time. Sometimes there are certain inherent difficulties in a planet expressing its energy in a sign but with those difficulties also come benefits. When a person first hears these words they can seem to carry a note of doom that can inhibit our ability to fully own and comprehend their strength. We can even end up blaming the planet. That's the reason I'm so and so. This merely projects blame and increases our own victim hood. For example Sun in Aquarius is different but that is their strength. Venus in Scorpio can be a little obsessed but can also love getting to the bottom of things and can experiences their greatest growth through friendships with women. Mars in Cancer can be overly emotional and defensive but can also have a passion for nurturing, patriotism, home building, and even classic literature. The value of the terms depends on the kind of astrology you are learning and the level of depth you pursue them to. They represent valuable accumulated wisdom but to the new comer they can be a stumbling block. In my opinion learning to look at a chart as unit, as a series of choices made from a high and enlightened state yields the most treasure. Seeing the chart as a living portrait of a soul's journey through many lifetimes unlocks the latent beauty in each person, in each moment. This has been my experience in astrology. It will not be everyone's.

What planets/signs are you worried about? Perhaps we can shed some light on that particular gift/challenge.
