Saturn, the most malefic planet, produces significant changes both at the mundane and individual levels when he moves from one sign to the next. Saturn is said to give good results only in three Rasis, namely the 3rd, the 6th and the 11th from the Janma Rasi. Though Saturn is believed to give bad results in all the houses other than the 3rd, 6th and the 11th houses, our ancient astrologers have weighed the bad results of transits of all planets and have specified only one house for each planet where it is said to give very bad effects. An ancient Tamil palm leaf verse specifies the planets that produce, very often, bad effects only during their stay in the following houses from the radical Moon during transits. The Sun in the 5th, the Moon in the 8th, Mars in the 7th, Mercury in the 2nd and Jupiter in the 3rd house, Venus in the 6th house, Saturn in the 1st and Rahu and Ketu in the 9th houses produce intensified bad effects. It must be noted that the ancient Tamil work has selected Janma Rasi (Moon sign) only wherein Saturn gives very bad results. According to Mantreshwara, when Saturn passes through the Janma Rasi, the person concerned will suffer fatigue and loss of wealth. He will become afflicted with excess of anger for unwanted things and will suffer from diseases. He will also lose much money.



Sadesathe Sani: The 7½ years’ Saturn (sadesathe) is the period of Saturn’s passage through the 12th, the 1st and the 2nd houses from the Moon sign. This period is supposed to be very malefic.

In Cancer Saturn will stay until 15 July 2007. Once again, on 16 July 2007 it will transit in Leo.
