Marilyn's contributions:

-Marilyn helped pave the way for the sexual revolution by selling sex in a form that was daring yet within public acceptance, and is partly the reason so many women have the right and freedom to profit from their beauty and sexuality today!. A key event to be mentioned is that MM was the first Playboy centrefold (though she didn't pose for the magazine)!.

-Marilyn was also the first Hollywood star to quit her studio on the grounds of artistic freedom (more specifically, her lack of serious screen roles), and leave to New York to study and the Actor's Studio, and more importantly, become the first female actress to set up her own production company!. This was a landmark event in the crumbling of the rigid studio system and saw the rights of many more actors being recognised in the future!.

While it is unwise to say that the sexual revolution or the breakdown of the studio system would not have occurred without Marilyn, you could argue it would have taken longer to progress!.

Other contributions she made that had less impact:

-She openly supported Civil Rights in a time of strong racial discrimination (she helped Ella Fitzgerald get her career break by making a deal with the owner of a white club that refused to let Ella sing)!.
-She supported her husband, Arthur Miller, during the height of McCarthyism when he was tried as a communist!. This is worth mention as Hollywood stars were threatened at this time and such a stance may have hurt Marilyn's career!.
-Marilyn was a down to earth and accessible star at a time when the studios build larger-than-life images of celebrities and stars were distant from their fans!.

I can think of others but I'm not really sure what kind of 'impact' you had in mind :/Www@Enter-QA@Com

Her real name was Norma Jean!. She was an actress who made famous the "dumb" blonde routine!. Many celebrities are imitating her "look"!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
