Linkin Park - What I've Done?!

Question: Linkin Park - What I've Done!?
Hi!

I have to analysis this song for an English assessment and I got most of it done as the main part of it is analysing the video clip!. The one question I can't figure out is "Name on poetic convention found in the text"!. I have gone over it several times but I can't see any!.

Can someone out there find one poetic convention for me!?!?

I am glad I got this song to research because I love it so much!

Thanks in advance!!!Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
- Parallelism "There's no blood / There's no alibi"
- Hyperbole perhaps!? "A thousand lies"
- Personification "let mercy come / and wash away / what I've done" That's probably the best one to talk about, the personification of mercy with the verbs "come and wash away" having human connotations!. Hmm, what to say about this!.!.!. um, by personifying mercy it makes quite a vivid image, makes the situation more real, could emphasize the importance of mercy and forgiveness!. Ooo also, possible religious connotations, washing away perhaps similar to baptism, washing away sins something like that maybe!.
- "clean this slate" possibly a cliched metaphor, presumably for erasing or making up for the past, for the things he's done!. A cliche would be used because it's something people can easily recognize and identify with, maybe persuade the recipient of the song to forgive!.
- Semantic Field of verbs connoting starting afresh "clean" "wash away" "erase" "cross out"

There's just a few ideas, hope it helps =]Www@Enter-QA@Com

Here's a good site:

I'm not sure if they will have that one line on there, but go through the comments!. That site is great!.!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
