The three manufacturers mentioned all make good guitars!. About 15 years ago, I was in the market for a decent acoustic!. Fortunately, i found a store which allowed me to take different 1s off the racks & play 'em!. I played an Epiphone & a Fender & then i saw an Alvarez!. i'm not quite sure why i was drawn to it, but the minute i played it, i thought - This Is It !! i'm still playing ( & loving ) it!.
What counts most for me is the action - that is a term used for how much finger pressure it takes to sound a clear note or chord!. The Alvarez had the best action!. Although subsequently, i played a Yamaha FG series & it was decent, i would never give up my Alvarez!
Yes, as a beginner you want the best action you can get!. If you cheap out and get 1 with a crappy action, regardless of brand, you'll give up soon b/c it's 2 hard!. Pick 1 that works the best 4 You & to hell w/ what every1 else says!
