Perhaps a short story, then!. (Did I say SHORT!? Muhahahah!)
I was in Oil Exploration in the '80's!. My ex-wife, (Then girlfriend) and I, were with a company called Roger's Exploration out of Englewood, Colorado!. We had worked for them, a few months on their Vibraseis crew near Sweetwater, Tx!.
(They use large trucks the size of semi's!. These trucks have thick metal pads that are 8 feet by 8 feet!. They're on the bottom of the trucks, and are pushed down against the Earth with hydraulic rams, with the push of a button by an operator inside the truck!. A pump, with a large engine on the back of the truck, pumps hydraulic oil through a 'Mass'!. This mass is essentially a huge block, with various holes in it!. There is a smaller block inside this Mass!. The oil going through the various holes, at various sequences, makes the inner mass oscillate!. It oscillates up and down!. So many cycles per second!. The inner mass, is connected to the large metal pad on the bottom of the truck, and the pad vibrates the Earth!.
This vibration can go way, way down into the Earth!. Sometimes as deep as 25,000 feet!. Geophysicists know that the Permian Basin has oil at around 20,000 feet!. Texas is one state in the Permian Basin!.
The vibrations go way down, and then come back up!. These are read by computerized equipment, and the data will be examined!.

This particular project was about to end, and we were asked if we wanted to join the Shothole crew in Colorado!. (They use dynamite for vibratory purposes, instead of Vibraseis trucks) We said yes, and headed to Rangely, Co!.
Upon arriving, we found we would be flown deep up a mountain side, by a three man helicopter!. This particular range belonged to the government, and no one had been up there in 50 years!. (Supposedly!. It SURE looked like it!)
Once the crew was flown up,(12 people), we had to wait on the equipment to be dropped in!. (Jugs and cable!. Slang for Geophones and cable) So we walked around a bit!. It was darkish, and foreboding!.
I've never been to the Black Forest of Germany, but from what I've heard about it, this place sure looked like it to me!. You could only see about 20 feet in front of you, and less in some places!.
All of sudden, the guy who was in charge of our crew, (Wireman), came walking up to myself and my girlfriend, Charlene!. He was carrying a blanket wrapped around something!. At a glance, it looked like a small dead body! He started out, with saying he wanted to show us something, but we had to swear to never tell anyone!. We both thought, Yeah, Right! So we said we would never tell, (Sheesh!), and he slowly unwrapped the blanket!.
It was a large bone!. So big, it looked fake!. I thought it was, and so did Charlene!. It was five feet long, and about 8 inches in diameter!. Except one end!. This looked just like the end of a chicken bone!. He asked if we knew what it was!. We both grinned, waiting for the punchline of this joke!. He said it was a Dinosaur bone! I said, "Yeah, Right!"
He handed it to me, and it must have weighed 140 pounds! I almost feel over with it! He said that's nothing! There's another part to it, and it must be 12 feet long!
Long story short, he never took the bone!. (That's another story!) We assume the dinosaur museum has it!. Not too many miles away, is Vernal, Utah!. They have a dinosaur museum set up on a site, where dinosaur bones naturally collected in one spot, and are preserved!.
So I guess the bone was REAL!

1!.well my sons band "Memphis Graham" [please google] is starting to take off, they are picking up more and more gigs in Chicago and have one now scheduled for the double door they have offers for representation and people wanting to promote them so i am very happy for them, its hard being a struggling artist and i wish them well they are great and talented guys and i couldn't be more proud of them if they were all my sons!.
2!. the story of the wild mouse that wanted to be petted!. once i had a wild mouse in my garage,still do just different ones, any way when i was working the mouse would come out and look at me I'd stop an look at him and say "don't worry i won't gonna hurt ya little fella" well the kids are in their early 20s and are home from school in the summer they and the wife and i are outside working the flower beds and mowing etc when the mouse comes out side and walks up to me and stands on his hind legs everybody stops and stares, the daughter says" look" and the wife sucks air i reach down "don't!" the wife says" it will bite you", i said "no it wont" i reach down and touch its head and then pet it, it regards me and returns to all fours and goes under a large barrow planter the boy says "that's it what the f**k are you Dr!. Doolittle!?" not much of a story,but its random and all i got right now!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
