Its a huge price difference!. The Strat is an ultimate guitar and fav by many guitar players!. BUT you are starting out so in case its just a passing phase go with a cheap guitar to learn on!. Then, once you gain an ear, you can buy a nice guitar to your liking and playing preference such as the Strat or Gibson, etc!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

and if you're a beginner definitly go with the Squier I'm not sure how much it is canadian but american, Squiers are around $100 and a decent amp is also around $100!.

are you serious!? Squires sound crappy, A fender will cost anywhere from $350 to as much as you have Thats American by the way!. If you are Canadian go ahead and get the squire!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
The Squier kit with 10W practice amp can be had for as little as C$160 from Wal Mart or similar!. A Fender Strat would be 4 times that without the amp!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
