Would playing flute effect my clarinet embouchure?!

Question: Would playing flute effect my clarinet embouchure!?
I have been playing clarinet for 4 years and I also play saxophone!. I was wondering if I took up flute as another instrument would it ruin my clarinet embouchure or would it not effect it or what!. I was thinking it would not effect it because the flute seems to have a fairly similar embouchure with the chin and everything, but my band teacher says it would ruin it so what do you think or what have you found out!?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi JR!.

Most likely, it will not affect your clarinet embouchure!.!.!. but most probably, you will have a challenge developing a good flute embouchure!. There are alot of doublers that play reeded winds along with the flute!. In many cases, their flute tone just never quite cuts it!.!.!.!. is never very pretty!.

I would not worry about your clarinet embouchure!.!.!. I think you have cemented that into your permanent memory!.
