Im at my friends house and she has 2 pit bulls!. We're sitting here wondering why they have that name for the breed!. Is there history behind it!? Where does the name come from!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I believe the breed was developed to fight bulls for entertainment purposes!. I think the dogs and bulls were put into a pit like area to fight!. That explains the pit part!. The bull part is not because of the bulls, but because they are a type of bulldog!. I read this some place!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
