Answers:
NO! Please don't soak your clarinet!.!.!. it will ruin the pads, the corks, and if it's wood, the water will ruin that too!

If it's really that bad, you can do this:

For PLASTIC clarinet-
Saran wrap the pads and cork!.!.!. all of them!.
Dip a swab in warm soapy water (like 1 or 2 drops of dish soap for a whole cup of warm water), wring out WELL, and swab through a couple times!.
Rinse the swab, wring out WELL, and run through again!.
Now use a dry swab, and run through each piece about 6 times!.
Leave it in the case with the lid open to finish drying!.!.!. THEN take the saran wrap off!.

You can clean the outside the same way, with a soft cloth and some Qtips!.!.!. just be gentle and watch the springs!.

For WOOD clarinet-
The easiest thing to do is take it to a shop and let them clean and oil it for you!.!.!. then make sure you swab out EVERY TIME you play it!.

And I'm with the other poster!.!.!. how did it get this bad in the first place!? You REALLY need to be swabbing out right after you play it!.!.!. it will be healthier for you and extend the life of your instrument!.

Hope this helped, and have fun! :)Www@Enter-QA@Com

clarinets have pads, which cannot get wet!. so the answer to your question is no!. just out of curiosity, why did you let it get that bad!? Www@Enter-QA@Com

Take a soft bristled toothbrush and use it to get off some off the built on spitWww@Enter-QA@Com
