Question: Whats it like working at Hollywood video!?
For those who work or have worked at hollywood video, whats it like!? 1!. What I would like to know is how much do they pay you, and when do they pay you!? 2!. Are they flexible when it comes to school hours!? 3!. How far in advance do they make the work schedules!? 4!. If I needed a day off, would I be able to request it!? and if yes, how long of a notice would they need!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

1 minimum wage to start off with usually then if promoted a raise etc, hired as a gsr make less then shift leader, depending on your part of the country really when they pay you, some pay weekly others biweekly based upon state laws in MA its weekly
2 im currently in college and they do work around your availability, it doesnt mean they wont try to get you to work those days though, someone calls out sick someone needs to replace them you know what i mean
3 usually the schedule is made on a monday -wednesday for the next week sometimes if desperate or without a manager schedule is made the very last day possible
4 2 weeks at least at my store there should be a request off book, but tell the manager your availability its rather important from the beginning
over-all i like working for Hollywood, free rentals are great, meeting cool customers is fun,
the drawbacks- when corprate decide to change something everything gets crazy, some associates can be lazy and dont do there jobs right (dont be one of them), angry customers about late fees, (had a guy threaten to punch me in the face hahaha that was funny)
most of the time it is fun but sometime it can get hectic, and i work for a less busy store but still if something goes wrong a;ll hell breaks lose
all in all, it can be hectic, and can make you frustrated, but having a good relationship with sme of the good customers is worth all the junk
