Question: If downloading copyrighted music free is destroying the music industry why are CDs still being produced!?
I mean is that not where the music we download comes from!? I know its like stone age technology now but if they only produced cassettes or vinyl we wouldn't be able to get them onto a computer!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Because the music industry is based on money!. Say 10 people u know buy a cd all different artist but lets say they were all produced by grindhouse records!. You can just borrow al of those cds and make a copy!. A new cd averages from about $13 bucks to $20 bucks so on average that's like 150 bucks grindhouse records is loosing!. Not 2 mention the artist who gets a % of each record bought/sold!. Its the same with the internet!. Basically every body is tring 2 make money and even if we had stuck w/cassettes or vinyl another device like a cassette burner would be invented!.!.!.its all about supply and demand!. Would u by a lab top or computer if you couldn't play or burn ur music on it!? Maybe but u would def not pay as much attention to quality, which is how the computer industry up-sells and makes their money!. Maybe if we all stopped buying cds together than they would stop making them just like if we all stopped buying gas at Premium or well-known stations the price of gas would go down!. :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
What I don't get is there is a way of copy protecting CD's so that you can't copy them, so why don't they use that on all CD's then!? I've heard if you buy CD's from some online stores they have protected them so they can't be copied, so this means it can even be done after they're manufactured!. For all their moaning about it "destroying the industry" they have a solution, but choose to not use it!. And if it is ruining the industry how come there are just as many multi millionaires in the music industry just like there always were!. Do you think Madonna & Mariah Carey are suddenly poor now!? Kylie Minogue is one of the wealthiest people in Australia with $80 million $$!. Doesn't sound like an industry on the brink of ruin to me!.
also there is a way to record tapes & vinyl to your PC anyway, I'm not sure how it's done but I know a guy who does it!. I think he maybe has a cable going from his cassette recorder to his PC & he records it onto a CD!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

CDs are produced so that the profits that are made when the CDs are sold can go to the record companies and the artists who debuted on them!. There are artists and record companies that dislike the downloading of music because they feel that's money that is not going into their pockets!. The less money in their pockets, the less they'll make!. Purchasing vinyls, cassettes and cds are putting money into the companies and artists pockets!. Downloading isn't!. CDs are still being produced because many people still buy songs rather then downloading illegally!!, I know people who download illegal songs and buy CDs because they want the actual physical item!
Even if they only produced cassettes and tapes this would not stop it easily being transferred to PC just like CDs and DVDs!!

The International CD Market hasn't actually collapsed yet!. although in Europe and the US downloading is very common, in Asia, Africa and the northern parts of europe the CD Branch júst snapped into action!. it's only been around for a decade and a half!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
