Who would buy a walmart gift card on ebay?!

i was just on ebay and i saw a dozen or more gift cards on there and people were bidding on them!. the amounts were like 500!.00 and the bids were like up to 498!.00 that's weird to buy a gift card online for 2 dollars less, and it could go higher than the actual amount!
why would u do that!? the thrill of the bid!? the victory of winning something!?
