Why are cartoon characters with overbites always made out to be stupid?!

Question: Why are cartoon characters with overbites always made out to be stupid!?
Answers:
It's visual shorthand!. It comes from the animated shorts that appeared in front of movies back in the 30's to 50's when most shorts only ran for about 6 minutes!. Animators had a very short time to set up, run through and conclude their gags and didn't have time to spare to develop 3 dimensional personalities that took time to unfold nuance!. So, they used visual clichés and stereotypes to quickly and immediately let the audience know what kind of character they were seeing, so they could get on with the jokes!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
