Answers:
A 12 string guitar is not that different from a 6 string version!. A 12 string has 6 double-courses, with each double course containing a pair of strings that are tuned in harmony!. I would recommend starting with a 6 string, since it is a bit easier to learn picking techniques and how to hold down a fret if you are trying to do it with one string instead of 2!.

A 12 string has a great sound for some things, and it is probably easier to get a good sound out of it because the double courses will automatically give you harmonies!. On the other hand, it isn't as flexible as a 6 string which can play almost any style of music!. I learned on a 6 string and by the time I picked up a 12 string for the first time, I just could play it; there was really nothing extra I had to learn!.

I don't think starting with a 12 string is impossible by any stretch, but I would recommend a 6 string at first!. If you get the hang of that, moving to a 12 string later will be a piece of cake!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

they are kinda different you might need a guitar book that can train you with the songs and the notes and there are more strings trust me i know i have a bro in a band!! and it will take some time to tune it to! and you might need to work on getting your fingers stronger they might be alittle sore at first but you will get it! and it will take about a month maybe to learn so keep it up and you will get it in no time!

Judging from the situation!. I recommend practicing, it makes things easier!. I've had experiences from both the guitars!. However,I personally favored the 6 strings because it was a lot easier to "adopt" compare the 12 string!. Practice is the key to mastering any instrument!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Ummm More strings more work on fingering!. More difficult to play!. Try a harp that will really give you a few strings more!. You can learn to play a 12 string but a 6 string gives you the fingering you need to learn and than progress to a 12 string!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a little harder to hold the strings down while playing, but the movements are the same!. However tuning a 12-string can take a while!.

You can simulate a 12-string with an effects pedal!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

yes!. about 100 times harder!.
you really need to learn the basics and develop lots of finger strength before you try to tackle 12 strings!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
