Question: How Come Artists Lose their Skills!?
Musicians, Writers, etc!.!.!. How come so many artists lose their skills when they get older!? For example, I used to like Stephen King books, but for the last 15 years he has just been putting out crap!. I like many music groups, but in case after case, I prefer their older stuff (when they were just starting out) compared to their newer music! So many of them were considered "geniuses" in their day, putting out great stuff, and then they stop!. Stevie Wonder is a good example!. I liked U2 up until 1992, since then the music just doesn't have the "spark" for me!. The same with The Cure!. Does age kill the creative genius!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

No age doesn't kill it, but some artists only have a limited amount of creativity to put out there!.!.!.some artists put out one incredible album and then the rest is mediochre, or they decide not to record anymore because they've said what they needed to say!.
You cite some interesting examples!.!.!.no they don't sell as many units as they used to but just like any other person, they change and grow and their life experiences take them in different creative directions (having butt loads of money now doesn't hurt either)!. They were innovators in their time and now over the years, newer artists have been influenced by them so what they're doing now doesn't seem that innovative!.
also, most people including record companies are always looking for the "next" Stevie Wonder or the "next" U2 (suggestions: Raul Midon and ColdPlay respectively) when the originals are still here!

if you are a true artist nothing will ever change your skills, sure you could be going through a faze where you feel drained and unskilled but overall, if you possess the talent it is just in your blood and there is no way to lose it!. You just change when you get older and you start to see things differently!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
