Suggest Any Good Mind **** books/movies?!

Question: Suggest Any Good Mind **** books/movies!?
I already have read many H!.P!. Lovecraft (no ****) and read some Philip K!. Dick, seen 'Lost' and seen 'A Scanner Darkly'
suggestions!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
Sure!.
Books:
-Anything by Franz Kafka, like the other poster said
-"Battle Royale" (also a pretty good film version) Japanese novel set in a sort of alternate history where Southeast Asia is a combined totalitarian superpower and students are forced to compete in a "game" of sorts organized by the government where classmates battle against one another and the survivor is the winner--i!.e!. the person who has probably murdered the most people wins!.
-Anything by Yukio Mishima!. Let's just say he commandeered Japanese military base with his "private army", gave a speech about how Japan should return to imperialism, and then committed sepuku (ritual suicide)!. Doesn't sum up his work as elegantly as it deserves, but it gives you an idea of what his books are like!.
-Haruki Murakami!. This prolific Japanese novelist fills his books with all sort of bizarre surreal touches that would make Lovecraft proud!. Highly recommended!.
-J!.G!. Ballard!. After surviving a Japanese internment camp for British civilians as a child during WWII, Ballard went on to become one of the best known sci-fi novelists and short story writers!. His works are surreal and disturbing, as you can imagine given his childhood!.!.!.
Trust me, all these authors/books will mess with your head!

Movies:
Start renting Korean films! Park Chan-Wook directed the "vengeance" trilogy which includes chronologically, "Sympathy for Mr!. Vengeance", "Oldboy"!. and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance!." Aside from being an amazing film maker in terms of visual style and all other basics, Park writes and directs movies that bring up philosophical questions, usually in the vein of "how would you behave in this situation!?" These films are NOTORIOUSLY violent, but that's not all that will disturb you!. All three are surreal and thought-provoking!. What would you do if you were a man mysteriously imprisoned (in a one room apartment) for 15 years with no explanation!? How would you deal with being placed in prison for a crime you didn't commit!? These movies are amazing!.
-I also recommend anything by Darren Aronofsky, but particularly "Pi" and "Requiem for a Dream!."Www@Enter-QA@Com
