becasue they make cheesy, formulated, "Trance by Numbers" Trance Music that is so deviated and perverted from what Trance music is/was all about that its not even trance music any more but just pop music covered in flashy bits and bobs!.
Trance music is/was about the reward of deep listening to the music where different and complicated sounding layers would slowly be added building the tension and bringing the music to its climax!.!.!.normally with a 2 or so bar breakdown before the main layers are re-introduced or otherwise uses sounds that are actually entrancing!. This is clearly displayed in "Classic Trance", "Progressive Trance", "Acid Trance", "Goa/Psy Trance" and to a point "Minimal/Neo Trance"!. i!.e Its actually ENTRANCING hence the name Trance Music!.
Ian Van Dahls music is the equivelent of puting so much Ketchup on your food that the original flavour!.!.and they also use horrific "Supersaws" in some tracks that are just the epitany of Trance music!.
There only saving grace is that there are some ok remixes of there tracks and that they are the gateway to EDM for most people in which they then discover some very good music within the Genre!. However this also destroyed trance music and built it a repuatation as a sell-out never ending line of pop jingles which in all fairness do sound pretty similar!.!.!.so fair enough when people say Trance is rubbish because if Ian Van Dahl was all i heared then i would probably too!.
BTW its not that its JUST Ian Van Dahl that are rubbish becasue there are others like "alice deejay" and "Fragma" whos music applies to what i have said, its just Ian Van Dahl have released so many track that they are easy pickings!.
also, Tiesto is considered massively over-rated by me and many Die-Hard fans and we are most deffinately not fans of his and thats the same with Above & Beyond although I dont mind them and quite enjoy their workWww@Enter-QA@Com
