How Important is a Whammy Bar?!
Question: How Important is a Whammy Bar!?
I'm planning to buy either an Epiphone Les Paul Special II or Yamaha Pac012 (both starter kits w/ amps, etc!.)!. The Yamaha has a whammy bar, and I'm told it's important, but I prefer the Epiphone!. So is it really that important!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

nope!. Whammys are not need to play most songs these days!. You can get a whammy pedal andgsound better!. I suggest you get the Epi!. Gibson/Epi have tremelo arms on some of their models!. Besides if your a starter you won't need it!. Whammys cause the strings to go out of tune and even snap!. With a pedal that can never happen and you have more control!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It will detune the guitar over time and it really can be just a fad!. If you really want to do the whammy bar effect then there is your answer otherwise it won't much matter!. You can always get PC programs that can mimic that effect or even pedals to do that effect or more!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I kind of loveeee epiphones!. Whammy bar's are awesome if you love contorting sounds and such, but I've got to say that Les Paul's are AMAZING!. I think you should go with the Les Paul, definitely!.

a LOT of guitars do not have wammy bars!. it more or less is just an extra touch, and you can get the same effect with a certain type of pedal (forgot name)!. it can be important though i guess for a certain band type or something!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
it knocks the guitar out of tune alot, if its not a well made guitar, i now own an epiphone and i like it alot better, i dont miss the whammy bar at allWww@Enter-QA@Com
DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF MUSIC YOU DO!. I USUALLY DON'T USE IT!. IT'S MOSTLY AN EFFECT ON YOUR NOTES!. I USUALLY BEND MY NOTES WITH MY FINGERS!. LOTS OF METAL AND HARD ROCKERS USE WHAMMY BARS!. PUNKERS NOT SO MUCH!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
