Is it hard to transfer from guitar to bass?!

Question: Is it hard to transfer from guitar to bass!?
Answers:
The fundamental mechanics of playing the instrument are very similar, so in that respect it shouldn't be too hard if you can already play the guitar!.

The difficulties usually come into the players approach to the music via the instrument!. Bass lines are supposed to be complimentary to guitar/keyboard parts in most genres and usually have a strong rhythmic connection to the drum parts (specifically the kick drum)!. Bass lines that follow guitar parts are really not traditionally what the bass was used for (unless you play metal)!. The bass adds sonic contrast to any arrangement and gives it the depth that most ears enjoy!.

This leads to the second hard part about switching from guitar to bass: tone!. Guitarist spend their entire lives searching for the perfect tone and have adjusted their taste accordingly, but to listen to a great bass tone takes a different palette!.

I'd say study the great bass players, Jaco, Mingus, etc!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The fret work will be easy, but the percussive technique(picking/slapping/pulling/pluck!.!.!. will take a few years to master!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
