Question: Why do celebrities charge for autographs!?
I was looking up some convention and fansite information for
stargate and noted that not only do you buy tickets to attend the events but you also pay for an autograph!. Now I realize not all actors are millioniares and they are working , but why do they charge for autographs!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

It is basically supply and demand!. Fans demand autographs, and there is only a limited supply of time in a celebrity's life!. also, while writer's cramp is not as bad as some work related injuries, it is taxing to sit for hours signing your name!.
also, it is true, not all celebs are millionaires!. Some people have made fortunes off of their work (producers, mostly) and some have made careers and lifeltyles out of their work (shopkeepers, publishers, reporters, collectors, dealers of collectibles, etc)!.
People can take a piece of paper, or baseball, or photograph, etc, that has been signed by a celebrity and sell it, and make a decent living doing it!.
Celebrities get mobbed wherever they go by people demanding autographs, sometimes invading their privacy and certainly making it difficult to walk down the street!.
Given all this, why shouldn't a celebrity try to get a piece of the action and supplement their income by selling their autograph!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
