This is more or less a matter of personal taste!. There are different types of both guitars (especially Ibanez) and your best bet is to spend some time in the local music stores playing both!. Both companies, for the most part manufacture high quality guitars and although arguably the imported Fenders were once a topic of heated debates their quality has greatly improved over the years, however the resale value still lacks!. You will discover that Ibanez makes a variety of different guitars for practically any style while Fender is most noted for perfecting their own niche of guitars!. Either way its going to boil down to what you want!. Both companies are highly regarded!. I've played both and my personal opinion is that although I prefer my Fender, I think you will find Ibanez makes some "easier" fretable guitars especially if your just starting out!. Personally I would take a Fender Stratocaster over anything Ibanez produces but it is a matter of personal preference!.
