What is your favorite type of fantasy villain ?!

In books, tv shows, movies or video games, what villains appeal to you the most!? Comepletely phychotic and evil, extremely powerful, mysterious, intellegent and cool-headed (like final fantasy villains), dark and short tempered!. Or ones that do what they do for a reason, like they were tortured as children, or their parents were killed, and you have a way of sympathising with them, to make them feel more human!.
