Does GERARD WAY in your opinion deserved to be called a 'Hero'?!

Question: Hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of young people call him a hero and the words have slipped out of my mouth a couple of times before too. He's spoken out against it and said he's not a hero but he's flattered.

He's overcome being held at gunpoint at the age of 15, bullying, drugs and alcohol problems, depression, the death of his Grandma and he talks
wanting to make the world a better place after 9/11 and talked out about homophobia, sexism and racism and being womanisers. His hero was his Dad because he said he wasn't a womaniser, and went out and worked hard to look after and feed his family. He said that's what a true man is.

If you watch his interviews you'll understand what I mean, if you'd like a link then just ask :)

But do you think this justifies people calling him a 'Hero' or not?

Yeah he is a hero, with a fantastic imagination...he's overcome so much in his life and at least deserves the respect of people who don't like him.
I'd like to see other people go through what he did and achieve even half as much as he has.

He is a hero! I love him.

I suppose it depends on if you identify with him or not. My husband is from Liverpool and 2 of my children were born there. My husband is a blue so, no, he does not agree with the label 'hero', but my boys are reds, and they definitely love the man. (especially after last nights performance!).

Elebka - you're thinking of Steven Gerard from LFC, not Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance as in the question.

OF COURSE he's a hero!!!!!!!!

i mean seriously look at everything you just typed! how is he not?????? he is who i have idiolized for the last 2 years! he is deff. MY hero, and thats all i need.
